Perennial, hirsute, or woolly shrub, stems intricately branched, up to 35 cm. Leaves few, much variable in size and shape, sometimes winged. Flower heads pale purple. It grows in wadi banks and stony mountain slopes, gulleys, and wadi beds

Distribution in UAE
This species is uncommon but widespread in low to moderate elevations in the Hajar Mountains and Ru’us al jibal regions.
